Mountain Ladies

This just in...the ladies at our overnight party at Maxey cabin. Beware. This is not intended for small children or people with heart conditions.

Election Day

I voted this morning! Yeehah! There is a wicked east wind, the temperature is about 38 degrees, but, by golly, I voted. I even rode my bike to the polls. Although I did not have to wait in line very long, there were more people voting at my polling place than I have seen before. How exciting. I think we'll have a celebratory dinner this evening as we watch the returns roll in. University employees have the day off, so today is a good day to vote, and then enjoy being an American. (That sounds cheesy, but I mean it.) So, for me, this day means working on my novel for NaNoWri Mo, baking some cookies, watching CNN, and being thankful for having a roof over my head as the weather goes from bad to worse. It looks like snow. But hey! Bring it on! I voted. And, I voted for the first African American President of the United States. (I hope.)
